Job Summary

The Site Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing valuations, monitoring material usage, and ensuring financial efficiency on site. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills, practical site experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and material take-offs for ongoing projects.
• Monitor project costs and track expenditures against approved budgets.
• Conduct regular site measurements and valuations of completed work.
• Prepare interim valuations, variation claims, and final accounts.
• Ensure proper cost control and advise management on cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor material usage, wastage, and reconciliation on site.
• Verify contractor and supplier invoices before payment processing.
• Support procurement by preparing material schedules and cost comparisons.
• Work closely with Head QS site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain accurate records of all site financial transactions and reports.
• Identify and report potential cost overruns or financial risks promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in building construction and site cost management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in residential and commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and industry standards.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
