UI/UX Designer
Job summary
BlueOcean is hiring an experienced UI/UX Designer to design clean, intuitive, and high-quality digital products for American AI and technology startups. The ideal candidate must understand product thinking, user experience, interface design, design systems, startup execution, and fast design iteration. This role is not just about creating beautiful screens. It requires someone who can understand user problems, simplify workflows, create strong product experiences, and collaborate closely with engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
- Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, dashboards, web apps, mobile apps, and product interfaces.
- Translate product requirements into intuitive and visually polished user experiences.
- Create and maintain design systems, reusable components, and UI standards.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, founders, and client stakeholders.
- Conduct lightweight user research, competitive analysis, and usability reviews where needed.
- Prepare clear handoff documentation for engineering.
- Review implemented designs and provide QA feedback.
- Iterate quickly based on client feedback, usability issues, and product priorities.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional UI/UX or product design experience.
- Strong Figma expertise.
- Strong portfolio showing web apps, mobile apps, dashboards, SaaS products, or complex workflows.
- Excellent understanding of UX principles, information architecture, user flows, interaction design, and responsive design.
- Strong visual design skills, including layout, spacing, typography, color, and hierarchy.
- Ability to design for fast-moving startup environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working directly with engineers and product teams.
- Experience designing AI, SaaS, B2B, fintech, marketplace, or productivity tools is a strong advantage.
