Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Brief Translation:
- Interpret client briefs with precision, identifying underlying business objectives, market context, and strategic imperatives beyond the stated requirements.
- Develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with client goals, incorporating market analysis, competitive intelligence, audience segmentation, and channel strategy.
- Present strategies to clients with clarity, confidence, and commercial awareness, securing buy-in from senior stakeholders including C-suite executives.
- Continuously refine strategies based on performance data, market shifts, and evolving client needs.
Execution Planning & Project Delivery:
- Translate approved strategies into detailed, time-bound execution plans with clearly defined milestones, KPIs, owners, and dependencies.
- Build and manage project timelines using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Trello, or equivalent), ensuring all workstreams remain on track and on budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across creative, digital, media, and analytics teams—both internal and external—to ensure cohesive, high-quality output.
- Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, escalating issues early and proposing solutions before they impact delivery.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned client accounts, building trust-based relationships with marketing directors, brand managers, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations with transparency, professionalism, and commercial sensitivity, balancing responsiveness with strategic boundary-setting.
- Lead client-facing meetings, status updates, and quarterly business reviews with poise and preparation.
- Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics across multiple client organisations simultaneously without compromising quality or relationships.
Reporting, Analytics & Performance Tracking:
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and campaign reports that clearly communicate progress against agreed KPIs.
- Leverage Excel/Google Sheets proficiency to build trackers, models, and data-driven reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Utilise AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, analytics platforms) to enhance research, content development, reporting efficiency, and strategic output.
- Translate data into narrative, ensuring reports tell a compelling story, not just present numbers.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide mentorship and direction to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of internal processes, templates, and best practices that elevate the agency’s operational standards.
- Champion a collaborative, solutions-oriented working culture within the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in marketing strategy, brand management, or agency account management with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of managing high-value client accounts and delivering integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through execution.
- Proven ability to develop and present marketing strategies to senior-level audiences, including C-suite decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business models, revenue drivers, and market dynamics across sectors.
Technical
& Functional Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets—including data modelling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and dashboard construction.
- Working knowledge of project management platforms (Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Notion, or equivalent) with the ability to structure and manage complex, multi-workstream projects.
- Proficiency with AI tools for research, content creation, and workflow optimisation, demonstrating a modern, tech-forward approach to marketing strategy and operations.
- Strong writing and reporting skills, ability to produce client-ready strategy documents, campaign reports, and executive summaries without extensive oversight.
- Familiarity with digital marketing ecosystems, including social media, performance marketing, CRM, and analytics tools.
Behavioural & Leadership Qualities:
- Strategic Thinking: Sees the bigger picture, connects dots across data, markets, and client objectives to craft winning strategies.
- Emotional Intelligence: Reads the room, manages tensions diplomatically, and builds genuine rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Communication Excellence: Articulates complex ideas with clarity and conviction in both written and verbal formats.
- Natural Leadership: Inspires confidence, takes ownership, and elevates the performance of those around them.
- Execution Discipline: Obsessive about detail, deadlines, and deliverables—brings structure to ambiguity.
- Resilience & Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, client-driven environment with shifting priorities and high expectations.
- Intellectual Curiosity: Constantly learning, questioning, and seeking better ways to solve problems and deliver value.
