Responsibilities:
- Own our overall technical architecture and engineering strategy.
- Lead the final technical sprint towards production launch.
- Review and strengthen the existing application architecture and codebase.
- Own backend services, APIs, databases and real-time systems.
- Build and optimise the dispatch and rider-assignment infrastructure.
- Integrate and maintain payment infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable communication between customers, merchants, riders and internal operations.
- Own cloud infrastructure, monitoring, uptime and system reliability.
- Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation and deployment.
- Build robust CI/CD and release processes.
- Own application security, data protection and access controls.
- Identify and eliminate technical bottlenecks before they become scaling problems.
- Work closely with Operations to translate real-world delivery problems into technical solutions.
- Work with Product and the CEO to prioritise the engineering roadmap.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead the engineering team as SHARRP scales.
- Establish engineering KPIs and delivery standards.
- Take ownership of technical incidents and lead root-cause analysis.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 2–3 years in a technical leadership, architecture, or engineering management capacity.
- Proven experience taking consumer-facing applications into production and scaling them reliably.
- Strong backend engineering experience with APIs, databases, and distributed or real-time systems.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and production monitoring.
- Experience integrating Nigerian payment platforms such as Paystack or Flutterwave.
- Strong understanding of security, authentication, and data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to make architecture decisions based on scalability, reliability, and business priorities.
- Strong debugging and incident-management skills.
- Experience building and managing engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building marketplace, logistics, mobility, fintech, e-commerce, or delivery technology.
- Experience with mapping APIs, geolocation, route optimisation or dispatch systems.
- Experience handling high-concurrency or real-time applications.
- Experience scaling a startup product from early stage to significant transaction volume.
- Strong product thinking: you understand that engineering exists to solve customer and business problems, not simply to ship features.

Remuneration: NGN 500,000 – 800,000
