Senior Quatity Surveyor
Job summary
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost and commercial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget, in compliance with contractual requirements, and to the required quality standards.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Oversee measurement, valuation, and certification of works executed
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement cost control measures
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance
- Evaluate and prepare claims, extensions of time, and dispute documentation
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams and management
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and company policies
- Prepare regular cost reports and financial summaries for stakeholders
- Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional membership (NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) is an advantage
- 7–12 years’ relevant experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of contract forms (FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or similar)
- Proficiency in cost management tools and MS Excel
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
- High attention to detail and commercial awareness
