Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform process engineering and technical safety studies for projects and operations.
- Conduct and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, QRA, and other safety studies.
- Develop and review process safety deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, cause & effect charts, and operating philosophies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (API, ASME, IEC, ISO, NFPA).
- Perform relief and flare system design, sizing, and verification.
- Support layout safety reviews, fire & gas detection, and hazardous area classification.
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and vendor documents.
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation.
- Provide technical safety input during design reviews, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8–12 years experience in process engineering and technical safety roles.
- Strong knowledge of process design, safety engineering, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA, and fire & explosion studies.
- Proficiency in process simulation and safety analysis tools is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret and develop process engineering documents and safety studies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Professional certification or training in process safety (e.g., NEBOSH, TÜV, IChemE) is an advantage.
