Senior Geologist
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to lead and support mineral exploration and geological activities. The ideal candidate should have strong field experience, advanced geological data interpretation skills, proficiency in geological modelling and GIS software, and the ability to supervise exploration teams and drilling programmes.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise geological exploration and field programmes.
- Lead geological mapping, sampling, drilling, core logging, and field investigations.
- Identify and evaluate prospective areas and mineral exploration targets.
- Interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling data.
- Supervise drilling programmes and ensure proper logging, sampling, and data collection procedures.
- Develop and maintain geological models, maps, sections, and exploration databases.
- Use geological, GIS, and modelling software for data analysis, interpretation, and resource evaluation.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior geologists and field personnel.
- Review geological data and ensure the accuracy and quality of field and exploration records.
- Contribute to mineral resource estimation and evaluation.
- Prepare and review detailed technical reports, presentations, maps, and exploration recommendations.
- Assist management in developing exploration strategies, programmes, and budgets.
- Work closely with mining engineers, surveyors, environmental teams, and other technical personnel.
- Ensure exploration activities comply with company policies and relevant health, safety, andenvironmental standards.
- Provide recommendations to management based on geological findings and exploration results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in mineral exploration, mining, or a related geological field.
- Strong practical experience in geological mapping, mineral exploration, drilling supervision, core logging, and sampling.
- Advanced knowledge of geological and mineral exploration techniques.
- Strong ability to interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling data.
- Proficiency in relevant geological, GIS, and modelling software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Surpac, Leapfrog, Micromine, or similar software.
- Experience in geological modelling and mineral resource evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of exploration database management and quality control procedures.
- Ability to prepare and review professional geological and technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise junior geologists and field teams.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, reporting, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple exploration activities.
- Willingness to travel and work extensively at mining and exploration sites.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within mining operations.
