Senior Freight Officer

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Freight Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of freight payment for DCP. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics and experience in managing freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the payment of cost of freight/haulage to DCP customers. Manage truck lease repayments by customers. Coordinate and oversee freight transportation activities, including negotiating rates with carriers and ensuring on-time delivery. Monitor and track shipments to ensure they reach their destination in a timely manner. Analyze transportation costs, routes, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to freight transportation. Manage and resolve any issues or disruptions that may occur during the transportation process. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to optimize logistics processes and maximize efficiency. Prepare and present reports on freight transportation activities and performance to senior management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Minimum of 6 - 9 years of experience in freight transportation or logistics management.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent knowledge of freight transportation regulations and best practices. Knowledge of logistics fleet operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of fleet tracking. Excel & Power BI skills.  Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize work. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in using transportation management software.
