Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Establishing and executing an effective AR process
- Preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts so they are delivered in a timely manner
- Analyzing financial statements, data, and trends to identify strengths and weaknesses, and propose corrective actions
- Coordinate proper maintenance of Fixed Assets register by ensuring proper recording of all transactions, new asset purchases, and disposals.
- Periodic analysis, investigation, and correction of various general ledger accounts
- Preparation, review, and reporting of periodic and annual budgets and forecasts
- Tracking cash flow of the organization and ensuring it's adequate and sustainable for the organization’s operation
- Interact with external auditors in completing audits.
- Liaising with tax authorities, external auditors, and other regulatory bodies as regards preparation and filing of audited financial statement.
- Ensure accurate computation, preparation, payment, and filing of taxes in a timely manner and in compliance with relevant tax laws (CIT, PAYE, VAT, WHT)
- Supervise all tax audits and ensure prompt response to tax queries and administration
- Monitor compliance with IFRS and monitor all financial transaction so they are in compliance with the internal control process and procedures of the company.
- Identifying and assessing the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization and implement strategies and policies to mitigate and minimize them
- Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
- Identifying and selecting investment opportunities, and managing capital deployment and the performance of those investments
- Providing advice to senior management and leadership on important business and financial decisions
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, senior management, auditors, and government authorities
- Provide leadership and guidance to all supervised/subordinate team members
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager Finance
Requirements:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- B. Sc.in Accounting, Finance, MBA in Accounting or finance preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in a senior management role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong understanding and proven implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GAAP, or ASPE
- Experience with ERP implementation and integration of accounting systems.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Proven track record in: Financial analysis and planning (FP&A), Financial reporting (internal/external), Cash flow and treasury management, Costing and Inventory management, Cash flow and working capital, Financial operations and control, Team leadership, management and development, Strong Stakeholder communication and management, Strategic business partnership, Budgeting and forecasting
- Risk management and insurance Regulatory compliance and tax reporting Leading audits and managing external auditor relationships Problem solving and continuous improvement
- Professionally certified (ACCA/CPA/CMA)
