About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Executive - Accounts to join our finance team in Sagamu. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily Accounting Operations:
- Process and post accounting vouchers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer payments.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Support management with MIS reports, data analysis, and actionable insights for decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Compliance & Control:
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes as required.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and operations teams to streamline financial processes.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACA (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) is highly preferred.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Voucher posting, GL maintenance, and full book-closing cycles.
- Accounts payable and receivable management.
- Financial statement preparation and MIS reporting.
- Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Familiarity with Nigerian accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, CAMA) and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in SAP or another major ERP system.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, macros).
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-departmental work environment.
