Senior Data Science Mentor

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Data Science Mentor to guide learners through practical, industry-relevant data science training. The ideal candidate possesses strong real-world experience and can effectively teach, mentor, and supervise hands-on

projects within a structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

●Mentor students or junior professionals in core data science concepts and workflows

●Deliver live, structured remote sessions

●Supervise and review student projects, providing clear and actionable feedback

●Support learners in solving real-world data problems

●Guide best practices in coding, data analysis, and machine learning

●Track learner progress and provide performance evaluations

●Maintain consistency, punctuality, and professional communication

●Contribute to improving curriculum and overall learning experience

Required Qualifications

●Master’s degree in Data Science or a related field (e.g., Computer Science,

Statistics, Mathematics, AI, or similar)

●5–7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a closely related role

Technical Skills

●Strong proficiency in:

○Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)

○Data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling

○Data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar)

●Hands-on experience delivering real-world data science solutions in industry

Core Competencies

●Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

●Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in a remote work environment

Preferred Qualifications

●Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or training individuals or teams

●Experience supervising capstone or real-world projects

●Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)

●Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

●Exposure to curriculum design or structured training programs

Compensation

●Payment in Nigerian Naira (₦)
