We are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the design, build, and scale of enterprise-grade data platforms that power analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with delivery ownership, working closely with architects, AI specialists, and business stakeholders across complex, high-impact engagements.
You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure delivery excellence, and translate strategic business requirements into modern, scalable data engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own data engineering workstreams across analytics modernization and AI transformation programs.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using modern architectures such as Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Delta Lake.
- Design and implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and governance pipelines.
- Build and manage cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Translate business requirements into scalable data engineering solutions aligned to KPIs.
- Manage delivery timelines, scope, and quality across multiple engagements.
- Mentor data engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with AI, strategy, and business teams to deliver end-to-end data value.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8โ12+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2โ3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL (Scala or Java is a plus).
- Experience with Apache Spark, DBT, Kafka, and Airflow.
- Deep experience with cloud data platforms across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, batch and streaming architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD, data testing frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience is strongly preferred.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to AI/ML deployment pipelines, MLOps, or analytics productization.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale data modernization programs.
- Cross-industry experience in Financial Services, Telecoms, Consumer, or Healthcare.
- Knowledge of Agile, DataOps, or modern delivery methodologies.
Soft Skills
- Clear and confident communicator across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong leadership mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
- Structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-project consulting environments.
Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Postgraduate degree or relevant cloud and data certifications are a strong advantage.
