Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processing
• Monitor shipping, transportation, freight, and logistics-related expenses to ensure cost control and profitability
• Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decisions
• Track operational costs and provide reports on revenue, margins, and profitability
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and company policies
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial documentation
• Monitor cash flow and assist in financial planning activities
• Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to improve financial efficiency and reporting accuracy

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Proven accounting experience, preferably within the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and budgeting
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
