Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accuracy of financial data entry and record-keeping.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.
• Depreciation calculation.
• Calculation of actual profitability and return on inventory
• Monitor any discrepancies in payment and record any returns.
• Organize a financial filing system that is easily accessible.
• Prepare accounting reports to be presented to senior management monthly.
• Track all payments made for tax preparation.
• Ensure that all clients receive their refundable deposit on time.
• Preparation of the company's monthly and yearly budget.
• Assist with Inventory Management.
• Managing daily accounting tasks.
• Update accounts receivable.
• Update accounts payable.
• Review expenses.
• Remit all VAT payments.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls.
• Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Assist with external audit.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• More than 3 years of experience as an accountant.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficient in accounting software, Zohobooks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Location: Ogba, Lagos

Remuneration: NGN 150,000 - 200,000
