Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts, accounts receivable, and payroll are recorded properly
• Maintaining the general ledger by inputting daily financial transactions
• Conduct periodic general ledger and balance reconciliation
• Supervise daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliation
• ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate
• Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and all statutory financial reporting
• Ensure that financial reports comply with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Assist in the review and monitoring of operational expenses.
• Provide input to the organization's budget, planning, financial modeling, etc.
• Supervise payroll functions
• Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organization is compliant with accounting standards
• Managing and overseeing the company’s banking and borrowing arrangements
• Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Financial, and Management Accounting functions.
• Manage treasury, foreign exchange, letter of credit, and CCI transactions
• Managing and tracking the budget and performance review
• Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations and controls
• Manage relationships with regulatory and statutory bodies, i.e., LIRS, FIRS, etc

Requirements:

• BSC/HND in Accounting or business related field
• Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA)
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), accounting software, and ERP
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Must be conversant with relevant tax law and principles
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
