Security Manager

Our client is a leading agribusiness and food company with operations spanning sourcing, processing, manufacturing, and distribution. As part of the global Group, the company plays a key role in Nigeria’s food production and supply chain, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability.

We are currently looking to employ a competent and experienced Security Manager to strengthen the company,s operations and ensure the safety of our people, assets, and facilities.

Our preferred profile is ex-military personnel or ex-police officers with a higher rank or equivalent to a Lt Col.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Security Manager will be responsible for the entire security of all the staff and company properties
• He will be supervising the activities of all the security agents (Military, Police, King's Guard, and Local Security) working for the company
• He will be responsible for developing comprehensive security programs to ensure the physical safety of all employees and visitors to their properties.
• Overseeing the daily operations of the company to identify potential security risks and room for improvement, and to ensure all security apparatus is maintained and updated.
• Fostering a culture of physical workplace violence and crime awareness by conducting training sessions and communicating with personnel.
• Managing, evaluating, and resolving all security incidents or breaches. Heading the Farm Internal Investigation Team (FIIT) for all crimes and security breaches within the company
• Work with the company's Security Coordinator to develop and implement an appropriate budget for security programs
• Prioritize security initiatives to avert all crises that will negatively impact the company’s operations
• Maintain relationships/collaboration with external law enforcement agencies at local, state, and federal government levels
• Develop emergency procedures and present risk assessments and improved security policies to the management team members
• Develop and maintain Intelligence (spies and machinery) on security operations to provide proactive information to management and keep it confidential.
• Implement disciplinary procedures among all staff to avert crimes within the company
• Regular checks on all security posts for efficient delivery of their mandates
• Develop and maintain a firefighting crew within the security team & and work hand in hand with the Safety Manager.
• Ensuring that the company's security policies and operations comply with all federal laws and legislation
• And any other security affairs that will keep staff and company properties safe.

The Security Manager reports to the Security Coordinator as appointed by the company.

Role Description

The Security Manager (SM) will be responsible for coordinating all the security affairs of the company and ensuring the safety of all staff and company properties. Generally, the Security Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe environment within a company, which involves ensuring the protection of the company’s assets and employees. Below are the key roles of the Security Manager for Rice Farm.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of at least 8 years as a Security Manager or a similar role
• Thorough knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies
• Relevant certifications in security management are preferred
• A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Proficiency in Hausa Language &
• Preferably be from Northern states / served in Northern States.
