Job Summary
The Scaffold Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and certifying scaffold structures to ensure they meet safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing scaffold design drawings, performing structural calculations, and providing technical support to project and site teams.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review scaffold design drawings, 3D models, and layout plans based on project requirements.
- Perform structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the stability and safety of scaffold systems.
- Provide technical support to site supervisors, safety officers, and construction teams regarding scaffold erection and dismantling.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards and codes (e.g., BS EN 12811, NASC TG20, OSHA
- Conduct design risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with scaffold installations.
- Inspect and verify scaffold structures on-site to confirm compliance with design specifications
- Collaborate with project engineers, planners, and contractors to integrate scaffold design into project schedules.
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, calculation reports, and approval records.
- Provide engineering input during incident investigations related to scaffold performance or safety.
- Stay updated on new scaffold technologies, materials, and regulatory developments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
- Professional certification or membership (e.g., COREN, NSE, ICE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Advanced training or certification in scaffold design, inspection, or safety is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in scaffold design and structural analysis within the construction, oil & gas, or industrial maintenance sectors.
- Proven experience using scaffold design and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of scaffold types (tube & fitting, system scaffold, suspended scaffolds, etc.).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-departmental coordination.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
