Scaffold Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review scaffold design drawings, 3D models, and layout plans based on project requirements.
• Perform structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the stability and safety of scaffold systems.
• Provide technical support to site supervisors, safety officers, and construction teams regarding scaffold erection and dismantling.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards and codes (e.g., BS EN 12811, NASC TG20, OSHA
• Conduct design risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with scaffold installations.
• Inspect and verify scaffold structures on-site to confirm compliance with design specifications
• Collaborate with project engineers, planners, and contractors to integrate scaffold design into project schedules.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, calculation reports, and approval records.
• Provide engineering input during incident investigations related to scaffold performance or safety.
• Stay updated on new scaffold technologies, materials, and regulatory developments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., COREN, NSE, ICE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Advanced training or certification in scaffold design, inspection, or safety is preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in scaffold design and structural analysis within the construction, oil & gas, or industrial maintenance sectors.
• Proven experience using scaffold design and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of scaffold types (tube & fitting, system scaffold, suspended scaffolds, etc.).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-departmental coordination.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
