Field Sales Representative
Job summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue by actively prospecting, visiting, and closing sales with retailers, wholesalers, institutions (supermarkets, schools, banks, corporations), and direct consumers in assigned territories. This is a field-based role. Success depends on daily visits, relationship building, and consistency.

Responsibilities:
Field Prospecting & Client Visits:
- Conduct a minimum of 10–15 client visits per day (retail stores, wholesalers, schools, corporate offices, sneaker boutiques, etc.).
- Identify, approach, and onboard new retail partners.
- Pitch Sharp Calculators to institutional buyers (universities, polytechnics, secondary schools, banks, accounting firms).
- Maintain a daily visit log with client names, contacts, outcomes, and next steps.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Achieve a monthly sales target (to be assigned based on product line and territory). Present product catalogs, pricing, and value propositions to potential buyers.
- Negotiate pricing within approved discount ranges.
- Collect payments or coordinate with Admin to ensure timely settlement.
- Submit weekly sales reports summarizing visits, proposals sent, deals closed, and revenue generated.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, ensuring they stock and prominently display products.
- Follow up on pending proposals and outstanding payments.
- Resolve client complaints or escalate to the Business Manager.
Market Intelligence:
- Gather feedback on competitor pricing, promotions, and product offerings. Report market trends
- Identify new sales channels or partnership opportunities.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Coordinate with the Admin team to ensure accurate order processing and stock availability. Work with the Digital Marketer to align field activities with online campaigns.
- Participate in weekly team review meetings (in person or virtual).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of field sales experience (retail distribution, FMCG, electronics, fashion accessories, or similar).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a field role.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Own a smartphone with internet access (for reporting and communication).
- Resident in Lagos with a willingness to travel within Lagos and occasionally to other states.
- Excellent verbal communication and persuasion skills in English (knowledge of Yoruba or Pidgin is an advantage).
- Preferred
- Existing relationships with retail stores, sneaker boutiques, stationery shops, or school procurement officers in Lagos.
- Experience selling watches, calculators, or premium lifestyle products.
- Self-starter who wakes up ready to hit the road.
- Resilient and comfortable with rejection.
- Organized and detail-oriented (for logging visits and tracking leads).
- Presentable and professional in appearance.
- Competitive and driven by targets.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: Competitive (to be discussed based on experience).
- Commission: Uncapped commission on sales achieved (percentage to be disclosed upon offer). Transport Allowance: Weekly fixed allowance for fuel/transport.
