Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and solicit potential new clients and business opportunities in assigned territories. This includes cold calling, site visits and networking with the relevant department heads and other client reps.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Technical Sales & Support: Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to explain services to customers and prospective customers. Provide technical support, troubleshoot problems, and provide solutions.
- Needs Assessment & Solution Design: Confer with clients and engineers to assess client facility and understand the issues as relates to wastewater plants/system, facilitate questionnaire and survey, and ensure all relevant information is received for effective proposal delivery.
- Proposal and Contract Management: Prepare detailed proposals, cost estimates, and sales contracts, negotiating terms and conditions to close deals and secure orders.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Monitor competitor activity, track sales performance, and provide feedback and reports to management on market trends and sales activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, including engineering, service, and project management teams, to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in engineering or science related discipline.
- Experience: Relevant experience in industrial, municipal, or environmental product sales. Minimum of 3-5 years.
- Technical Knowledge: An in-depth science-related understanding of wastewater treatment processes and related equipment is an asset.
- Sales Acumen: Proven sales competencies, including hunting, negotiating, and closing deals, with a goal-oriented and self-motivated attitude.
- Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to explain complex technical information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Mobility: The role often requires significant business travel to customer sites.
