The sales partner (1st line manager) will be responsible for driving sales performance across assigned territories in Lagos through effective team leadership, distributor management, and execution of general trade strategies. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong experience in FMCG food sales, capable of managing frontline sales representatives, achieving primary and secondary sales targets, and expanding market presence.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Directly manage, coach, and motivate a team of Sales Representatives to achieve set targets
  • Conduct daily field visits with team members to monitor performance and provide on- the-job training
  • Set clear performance objectives and track individual and team KPIs
  • Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to company sales processes

 

Sales Execution & Target Achievement:

  • Drive the achievement of secondary sales targets through the sales team
  • Ensure delivery of primary sales targets for the assigned region
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and take corrective actions where needed
  • Ensure effective route planning and territory coverage


Distributor & Channel Management:

  • Supervise distributor operations and ensure alignment with company sales objectives
  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors and key trade partners
  • Monitor stock levels, order cycles, and product availability across channels
  • Ensure timely order placement and delivery execution


Market Development & Expansion:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within general trade channels
  • Drive market expansion initiatives, including onboarding new distributors and opening new territories
  • Increase product penetration and visibility in retail outlets
  • Execute trade promotions and ensure in-market excellence


Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence
  • Analyze sales trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback
  • Provide actionable insights to improve sales performance and strategy


Compliance & Process Adherence:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing guidelines, and trade terms
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting standards
  • Enforce compliance within the sales team and distributor network


Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field 
  • 2–4 years of experience in FMCG (Food) general trade sales
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory/team leadership experience
  • Strong exposure to Lagos market dynamics is required
  • Proven track record in hardcore FMCG sales execution
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of energy, drive, and result orientation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment


Preferred Skills:

  • Candidates with 2–5 years total FMCG food sales experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory role will have a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in distributor management, general trade, and market expansion
  • The candidate must be under 28 years old.

  • Distributor efficiency and stock availability
  • New distributor onboarding and territory growth


Remuneration: NGN 250,000 Monthly Gross


Benefits:

  • Performance Incentive: NGN 80,000 upon 100% target achievement
  • Transport Allowance: NGN 90,000 monthly (fixed)
