Job summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a chemical manufacturing company seeking to hire a commercially driven Sales Officer based in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for growing revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities across multiple sectors while maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Identify new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and referrals.
  • Present and explain the features and benefits of company products or services to prospective clients.
  • Discuss pricing and contract terms, and formulate quotes and proposals to close sales.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and quotas.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain long-lasting, trusting relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact, resolving customer inquiries and escalating complex issues to relevant departments.
  • Conduct courtesy calls to ensure product satisfaction, encourage repeat business, and generate referrals.


Strategy & Administration:

  • Research market trends, evaluate competitor offerings, and provide feedback to management to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and expense records to higher management.
  • Track sales activities, manage appointments, and log customer interactions using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.


Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably within chemical manufacturing or oil and gas services.
  • Proven ability to identify, pursue, and convert business opportunities
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • Commercial awareness with a working knowledge of contracts and pricing.
  • Experience collaborating across departments in a structured business environment.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards, products, or supply chain is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
