Orange Farm is seeking a Sales & Marketing Officer whose core mission is to build reliable market access, repeat customers,
and predictable revenue for fresh vegetables produced by Orange Farm.
This is a field-driven, relationship-based, revenue-first role.
Success is measured by sales outcomes, repeat buyers, and reduced waste,
The officer will operate across Port Harcourt and Aba, developing urban and peri-urban markets,
coordinating harvest timing with the farm, and ensuring that produce moves quickly from field to buyer.
The Sales & Marketing Officer is responsible for:
- Creating stable demand for Orange Farm produce
- Building a strong repeat customer base
- Reducing post-harvest losses through better market planning
- Connecting farm production decisions to real market signals
- Positioning Orange Farm as a trusted supplier of fresh vegetables
1. Market Access & Customer Development
- Identify and onboard reliable buyers, including:
(Restaurants,Hotels,Caterers,Food vendors,Retail shops,Supermarkets,Local markets,Aggregators and institutions,Food processors)
- Build a portfolio of reliable and repeat buyers in each city (Aba & Port Harcourt)
- Maintain strong relationships with buyers through regular check-ins, reliability, and quality assurance.
- Position Orange Farm as a preferred supplier rather than a one-time seller.
2. Sales Execution & Coordination
Work closely with the Farm Manager and Agronomist to:
- Align harvest timing with buyer demand
- Avoid overproduction or last-minute dumping
- Ensure buyers are secured before peak harvest
Organize:
- Deliveries or pickups
- Bulk orders
- Price negotiations
- Payment terms
3. Demand Forecasting & Market Intelligence
Provide a demand forecast for farm produce and vegetables while tracking and report:
- Prevailing market prices
- Market understanding and knowledge
- Seasonal demand shifts
- Buyer preferences
- Competitor pricing
Use this intelligence to guide:
- Crop planning
- Harvest scheduling
- Pricing decisions
Required Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Confidence engaging businesses and market traders
- Willingness to travel within Aba and Port Harcourt
- Basic understanding of pricing and value of fresh produce
- Ability to work independently
- Good organizational skills
- Problem-solving mindset
Location : Aba - Port Harcourt only
Salary : 100k - 150k NGN
