About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Sales Manager to spearhead Hettich’s growth in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the furniture fittings, architectural hardware, wood or interior industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently developing the Nigeria and neighboring markets, establishing and managing distribution channels, and overseeing project execution to drive business growth. This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to establish and expand Hettich’s presence in Nigeria.
- Create and manage a robust distribution network across Nigeria.
- Identify new business opportunities, including key projects and partnerships within the furniture and interior industry.
- Maintain and grow relationships with clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and product knowledge in furniture fittings and ironmongery to clients and partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and customers’ needs to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets and project milestones.
- Ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in all market activities.
- Represent Hettich at industry events, exhibitions, and other relevant platforms.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in wood, building materials, or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of furniture fittings and ironmongery products.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong network and established contacts within the Nigerian furniture, construction, or interior industry.
- Ability to develop and manage distribution channels and execute projects effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a strategic mindset.
- Fluency in English, Hindi; additional local languages are a plus.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; Engineering, Marketing, Interior Design, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, preferably in Hardware, Building Materials, or related industries across Nigeria and/or West Africa.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of interior design and/or hardware products preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across West Africa & occasionally to Germany.
