Risk Management Officer
Job summary
The Risk Management Officer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks that may impact the bank’s operations, loan portfolio, and overall performance. The role ensures that risk policies are effectively implemented and aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:
Risk Identification and Assessment:
- Identify potential risks across credit, operational, market, and compliance areas
- Conduct risk assessments for new and existing products, processes, and clients
- Evaluate loan applications for risk exposure where required
Credit Risk Management:
- Monitor the quality of the loan portfolio and identify early warning signals
- Review credit appraisal processes to ensure adherence to policy
- Track delinquency trends and recommend corrective actions
Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
- Prepare periodic risk reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management
- Maintain risk registers and track mitigation actions
- Analyze key risk indicators (KRIs) and escalate issues promptly
Policy and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., central bank regulations)
- Support the development and review of risk management frameworks and policies
- Conduct compliance checks and internal control reviews
Operational Risk Management:
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to reduce operational losses
- Investigate incidents, fraud cases, or control breaches
- Promote risk awareness across departments
Audit and Regulatory Support:
- Assist internal and external auditors during audits
- Ensure timely resolution of audit findings
- Liaise with regulators on risk-related matters when required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Minimum of a BSc.
