Responsibilities:
Inventory Ownership (Critical Accountability):
- Maintain accurate daily inventory records across store floor, stockroom and website listings
- Ensure all received stock is counted, logged in Odoo, tagged and priced correctly before display
- Perform daily spot checks and weekly full reconciliations using Odoo Inventory
- Monitor and flag fast-moving items, reorder triggers, stock imbalances, shrinkage or damage
- Maintain absolute clarity on what stock exists, where it sits, and how it is performing
Visual Merchandising & Product Presentation:
- Ensure Christmas trees are fully decorated, commercially styled and regularly refreshed with sellable products
- Execute clear merchandising through colour stories, ornament groupings and theme-based concepts
- Re-merchandise based on sales performance, slow-moving stock and promotional focus
- Keep shelves, tables and feature areas full, intentional and photo-ready
- Rotate stock and remove tired displays quickly
Sales Performance Management & Reporting:
- Actively sell and lead from the shop floor during peak trading periods
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks in real time
- Flag slow-moving products and recommend markdown strategies and promotional bundles
- Provide concise daily updates covering sales highlights, fast-moving products, issues requiring attention and stock risks
- Prepare weekly sales analysis reports (Excel & PowerPoint) covering sales vs inventory, best-sellers, slow movers, traffic patterns and actionable recommendations
- Deliver monthly sales reports (PowerPoint) covering trends, profitability, inventory turnover and strategic actions
- Escalate problems early with no surprises
Website & Digital Coordination:
- Ensure new products are uploaded promptly with accurate images, correct pricing and clear descriptions
- Coordinate photography and content support as required
- Ensure in-store bestsellers are reflected online
- Flag out-of-stock items immediately to prevent overselling
- Conduct regular audits to align website with physical inventory
Social Media & Promotions Execution:
- Capture daily in-store content (decorated trees, new arrivals, styling ideas, customer favourites)
- Execute promotions accurately and on time (discounts, bundles, seasonal campaigns)
- Ensure promotional products are clearly merchandised in-store and communicated to walk-in customers
- Work with founder/brand lead to ensure store execution mirrors online messaging
Store Operations & Team Supervision:
- Open and close store according to schedule
- Ensure POS accuracy and cash discipline using Odoo POS
- Work with accountant to reconcile daily sales (cash/card transactions, sales vs banking, variance resolution, documentation)
- Supervise shop assistants and seasonal staff
- Manage shift allocation, attendance and punctuality
- Ensure staff understand pricing, promotions and display logic
- Maintain calm, structured operations during peak traffic
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing a busy retail or pop-up store in Lagos, ideally during festive periods
- Strong visual merchandising and styling capability
- Proficient in Odoo (Inventory, POS, Sales) or similar ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills and comfortable producing professional PowerPoint reports
- Commercially analytical with strong execution discipline
- Digitally aware (website coordination and social content)
- Highly organised, proactive and hands-on
- Lagos-based with reliable transportation
Success Measures:
- High inventory accuracy with minimal discrepancies
- Store consistently photo-ready and commercially styled
- Website accurately reflects available stock
- Promotions executed cleanly and delivering sales
- Daily sales reconciliations completed accurately and on time
- Weekly and monthly reports delivered on schedule with actionable insights
