The Relationship Manager (Loan Officer) is responsible for driving the Bank's lending activities by sourcing quality loan opportunities, assessing customers' creditworthiness, managing customer relationships, and ensuring timely loan repayment. The role involves marketing the Bank's loan products, monitoring loan portfolios.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, source, and onboard eligible borrowers to achieve assigned loan targets.
  • Market and promote the Bank's loan products and financial services.
  • Conduct customer appraisal, credit analysis, and loan recommendations.
  • Monitor loan performance and ensure timely repayment of facilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Carry out regular loan monitoring and recovery activities to minimize portfolio delinquency.
  • Cross-sell the Bank's products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Prepare accurate and timely loan and portfolio performance reports while ensuring compliance with the Bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in credit, lending, relationship management, or business development within a microfinance bank or other financial institution.
  • Sound knowledge of credit analysis, loan appraisal, and loan recovery.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to meet loan disbursement, recovery, and portfolio quality targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer service orientation.
