Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Regional Youth Lead based in Port Harcourt. The Regional Youth Lead will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of youth programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. They will build meaningful relationships with youth, support skill development initiatives, and represent the organization at regional events. This role includes fostering partnerships with local communities and stakeholders to enhance program outcomes.


Qualifications

  • Experience in Youth Leadership, Youth Programs, and Youth Work
  • Strong Communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Background in Social Work or a similar field is highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work collaboratively with teams
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a results-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to positive youth development and community engagement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience working with nonprofit organizations or community initiatives is a plus.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and administrative support to the Regional Coordinator in advancing Alpha’s mission within the Port Harcourt region.

• Work closely with the Regional Coordinator to develop and implement realistic growth targets and expansion plans for Alpha, particularly among teenagers and young adults.

• Support the deployment of the Church Engagement Framework (CEF) for Alpha Youth by assisting with church acquisition, training initiatives (including train-the-trainer models), and strategic church engagement efforts aimed at increasing the number of churches running Alpha Youth courses in the region.

• Assist in monitoring progress against growth targets, maintaining accurate records, reports, and ministry documentation.

• Help identify and develop opportunities for new Alpha courses across churches, schools, and Christian organisations.

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with youth leaders, churches, and Christian organisations working with teenagers and young people to expand Alpha’s reach.

• Support the planning, organisation, and execution of Alpha activities, meetings, and training sessions.

• Assist with communication, follow-ups, and coordination with churches, partners, and key stakeholders.

• Contribute to outreach, publicity, and basic marketing initiatives to increase awareness and participation in Alpha courses.

• Work collaboratively with the National Alpha Youth team and other ministry networks to strengthen partnerships and ensure alignment with national objectives.

• Perform additional duties that support Alpha’s mission of equipping the Church to share the gospel effectively


Work Expectations

• Position: Full-time role-based in Port Harcourt.

• Travel: Required within the Alpha PH region and beyond as needed; occasional travel to Lagos for training.

• Reporting: Reports directly to the Alpha PH Regional Coordinator.

• Contract: One-year fixed-term contract starting May 2026.

• Working Hours & Holidays: As determined by the local National Alpha Office.

• Flexibility: Availability to work key evenings and weekends for events as required.
