Job Overview
Global Education Alliance (GEA) is continuing to grow and will launch in Africa to support students, agents, and partner institutions across the region. GEA is seeking an experienced education recruitment professional to join as the Regional Director for GEA Africa. This role will be responsible for all business activities, partnerships, and staff in the African market. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, management experience, and knowledge of the African market recruitment landscape and partners.
In addition to supporting our recruitment partners sending African students to traditional outbound destinations such as the UK, Canada, and the US, this role will help plan and launch emerging destinations in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to the market in collaboration with the global GEA team.
This is a senior position and accountable for developing GEA Africa’s plan across recruitment channels, geographies, services, and ultimately ensuring the success of GEA in Africa. This position is based in either Nigeria or Ghana and directly reports to the Chief Commercial Officer, GEA.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing and executing GEA’s overall strategy in Africa
- Ability to analyze GEA’s capabilities in non-African markets and determine a successful plan for Africa
- Identifying and hiring the GEA Africa team across agency partnerships, counselling, and admissions
- Develop and execute annual marketing & recruitment plans in conjunction with the GEA’s wider team
- Building and activating a network of leading African recruitment partners to collaborate with GEA Africa to enroll outbound students
- Building the plan and capabilities to launch emerging destinations for the African market, including Asian, EU, or Middle East study destinations
- Providing exceptional support to our agency and counsellor recruitment partners
- Regularly join training sessions conducted by GEA partner institutions from various countries
- Maintaining a data-driven approach to student recruitment and monitoring enrollment trends to established and emerging destinations
- Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
- Traveling to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with GEA team members and partners
- Presenting and managing the GEA Africa budget
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Africa across B2C and B2B (agent) recruitment
- Possess a relevant and established industry network or agencies, counsellors, schools, test prep centers or similar
- Possess a network of potential candidates for GEA Africa to hire across agent business development, counselling, marketing, and admission roles
- Strong organizational and system management skills
- Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
- Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with a strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
- Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with GEA partners and future GEA Africa team members
- Willingness to travel within Africa and other destinations
- Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship
- Personal experience studying abroad considered a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree is a plus, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related areas
