Job summary
Business Development Manager (Power & Energy) is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities in Nigeria’s power and energy sector. The role supports market expansion through client relationship management, market intelligence, tender support, and EPC+F project development.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop business opportunities in Nigeria’s power and energy sector, particularly in Lagos, Abuja, and other key regions.
- Collect and analyze market intelligence, project leads, tender information, government development plans, investment opportunities, and competitor activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, utilities, project owners, consultants, supervision companies, industrial clients, and strategic partners.
- Support business meetings, client visits, technical discussions, commercial negotiations, tender registration, pre-qualification, bid submission, and project follow-up.
- Coordinate internally with technical, commercial, tendering, and project execution teams to support project development.
- Prepare regular market and project development reports.
- Ensure all business activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Nigerian national based in Lagos or Abuja, with a willingness to travel within Nigeria.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, project development, tendering, or commercial management within the power, energy, or EPC industry.
- Good understanding of Nigeria’s power sector, including utilities, government institutions, regulators, procurement processes, and tender procedures.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management, client relationship development, tender participation, and project follow-up.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- High level of integrity, compliance awareness, execution capability, and results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience working with power utilities, EPC contractors, consulting firms, supervision companies, renewable energy developers, or large industrial organizations.
- Familiarity with TCN, NERC, NBET, NDPHC, REA, DisCos, GenCos, state energy agencies, and major private power project owners.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, developing, or securing power and energy projects in Nigeria.
- Previous experience working with Chinese or international EPC companies is an advantage.
