Job summary

The Recovery Agent will be responsible for the timely and professional recovery of outstanding debts from individuals or businesses on behalf of the company. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to ensure effective debt recovery while maintaining good client relationships in line with company policies.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Contact debtors via phone calls, SMS, emails, and field visits to recover overdue payments.
  • Educate and remind customers of their contractual obligations and repayment terms.
  • Negotiate repayment schedules, settlements, or restructuring plans in line with company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, payment commitments, and follow-up actions in the company's database.
  • Escalate unresolved accounts.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical debt collection practices and comply with all company and regulatory policies.
  • Provide feedback and reports on debtor trends, challenges, and potential risks.
  • Support legal recovery processes where necessary by providing relevant documentation and information.
  • Achieve monthly recovery targets as assigned.
  • The candidate must have a working laptop.


Requirements:

  • B.Sc / HND / OND in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in collections/ recovery in a consumer finance company, microfinance, or bank.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills.
  • Commitment to achieving Performance goals.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office tools, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention to detail.
  • Great at time management, multitasking, and Prioritizations skills.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (English, fluently, Pidgin, and any other).
  • A working knowledge of appropriate CRM software.
