Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Reconciliation Officer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining proper reconciliation records across various accounts and payment channels.

Job descriptions & requirements

 Responsibilities:


  • Reconcile accounts, payment platforms, ledgers, and other financial records regularly.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external statements.
  • Review daily transactions and ensure accurate posting and classification.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation reports.
  • Track outstanding and unidentified transactions and ensure timely resolution.
  • Liaise with banks, payment processors, finance, operations, and other relevant teams to resolve reconciliation issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements to reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.


 

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in reconciliation, accounting, finance, or financial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial transaction processes.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/financial management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
  • Professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is an added advantage.
