Job Summary

The ideal candidate, a chartered accountant with real estate experience, will assess our clients’ financial situations, offer strategic advice on various real estate financial products and services, and develop personalized financial plans to suit their needs.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Build financial statements and financial projections.
  • Engage in financial advisory services.
  • Structure real estate loans and real estate investments.
  • Liaise with the MD to determine the organization’s expenses, income, insurance coverage, financial objectives, tax status, risk tolerance, or other information needed to develop a financial plan.
  • Verification, allocation, and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Oversee the accounting associate on daily accounting duties include the preparation of invoices, reconciliations, payment processing, cash-flow management and payroll processing.
  • Reconcile and analyze the accounting and reporting of a major subsidiary.
  • Coordinating with external auditors to ensure that audits are completed on time and according to standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  • Formulation of financial and internal control policy, and provision of technical advice on management accounting.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Manage junior accounting officers and bookkeepers.
  • Monitor price verification and cost control of transactions with organization vendors.
  • Coordinate with different departments to produce yearly departmental budgets and manage the budget control mechanisms all year round.
  • Monitor the accounting associate’s deliverables on statutory remittances and yearly returns (Tax, Pension, NHF).
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Answering questions from clients looking to invest about financial plans and strategies and giving financial advice.
  • Analyzing financial data received from clients to develop strategies for meeting clients' financial goals.
  • Managing and updating client portfolios.
  • Maintaining compliance with all rules and regulations in the financial industry.


 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Must be a chartered accountant.
  • Post-graduate degree or a relevant certification is an added advantage.
  • Relevant experiences in real estate investment financing, building financial statements and projections, and structuring real estate loans.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in investment analysis and advisory is compulsory; preferably in wealth management and managed accounts and programs, across the real estate agency & brokerage, discretionary and advisory space.
  • Experience leading, supervising, and motivating a team of finance and investment professionals.
  • Proven ability to interact with senior leadership and to lead small teams, top management consulting, or advisory environment.
  • The ability to translate business problems into analytical questions and define the “killer analyses” required to highlight and illustrate the issue at hand to management.


Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of the real estate industry and federal regulations.
  • Knowledge of financial and real estate investment options, including investments, loans, savings accounts, and stock options.
  • Expertise in financial planning and investment strategies.
  • Financial modelling skills.
  • Familiarity with the securities, mutual fund, and insurance industries
  • Advanced ability to analyze and explain market data.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and financial planning software.
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to assess financial needs.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Good organization and time management skills
