Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Supervise drilling, blasting, crushing, and hauling activities.
- Optimize production throughput and minimize downtime.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs.
Personnel Oversight:
- Recruit, train, and manage quarry staff and contractors.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits.
Financial and Commercial Leadership:
- Manage budgets, cost control, and profitability.
- Oversee product pricing, sales, and client relations.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts.
Regulatory and Community Engagement:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian mining laws and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.
- Engage with host communities and manage CSR initiatives.
Quality Control and Reporting:
- Monitor material quality and ensure it meets client specs.
- Maintain production logs, safety records, and regulatory documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years in quarry operations or mining management.
- In-depth knowledge of quarry equipment, production methods, and safety protocols
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with local mining regulations and environmental laws.
