Job summary

To manage all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for construction projects, ensuring value for money while maintaining quality and compliance with project specifications. The Quantity Surveyor provides expert advice on cost planning, procurement, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess project viability.
  • Evaluate tender documents, contracts, and participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress and financial performance, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and timelines.
  • Provide cost control, procurement strategy, and value engineering support to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, variations, and final accounts for management review.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to optimise project delivery and minimise financial risk.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.
  • Track and manage changes to designs or subcontractor works, ensuring accurate cost adjustments.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and project professionals (e.g., project managers, site engineers, site managers).
  • Perform any other related duties or tasks as may be reasonably assigned by management in the company’s interest. 


Requirements: 

  • Strong knowledge of construction cost management and contract administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software (e.g. CostX, QS CAD).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
