Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities:

• Feasibility Studies: Before a project even breaks ground, they evaluate the site and determine if the proposed concept makes financial sense.
• Cost Planning: They estimate the costs of materials, labor, plant, and timeframes.
• Bills of Quantities (BOQ): They measure construction drawings to quantify exactly what materials and labor are needed, which is used by contractors to price their bids.
• Tendering and Procurement: They help prepare tender packages and contract documents.
• They manage the bidding process, evaluate the quotes submitted by builders, and help clients select the most qualified and cost-effective contractors.
• Contract Administration and Valuation: They ensure all work complies with the agreed-upon contract terms (e.g., FIDIC or NEC contracts).
• They conduct routine site visits to evaluate the completed work, which allows them to authorize payments to subcontractors and manage cash flow.
• Cost Control and Dispute Resolution: They track ongoing costs and forecast expenditures to prevent budget overruns.

Requirements:

• Applicants must possess a minimum of HND/B.Sc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Applicants must have 2–3 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Applicants must have strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Applicants must be able to prepare project valuations and manage project costs effectively.
• Experience in construction projects will be an added advantage.
