Quantity Surveyor
Job summary
The quantity surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on time, and in accordance with contractual and quality requirements. The role involves cost planning, procurement, valuation, and financial control from project inception to completion.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects
- Monitor project costs and control expenditure throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and evaluate tender documents, bids, and contracts
- Measure and value work done on-site and certify interim and final payments
- Assess variations, claims, and change orders in accordance with contract terms
- Advise management on cost planning, value engineering, and risk management
- Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost analyses
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards
- Support dispute resolution and final account settlement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Professional membership (e.g. NIQS, RICS) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in construction or civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and contracts
- Proficiency in measurement, cost control, and project management tools
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail
