We are hiring an ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor (Max 27years) with a strong zeal for learning. Split time between site valuations and office BOQ preparation. Requires ND, B.Sc/HND, strong Excel skills, CAD software.

Responsibilities:
Preparation of Quotations:
- Prepare detailed client quotations or tender documents based on the cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and price analysis. These documents outline the scope of work, specifications, pricing breakdown, terms and conditions, and other relevant information required for the client to make an informed decision.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive quantities take-offs and cost estimates for interior design projects, including materials, labor, and other relevant expenses.
- Respond to requests for quotations (RFQs), prepare quotations or tenders.
- Review contractor bids and negotiate pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and maximize project profitability.
- Review and validate all cost-related information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Collaborate with the architect and site supervisor to ensure cost-efficient design solutions
Budget Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and track budget variances/differences, identifying areas for cost optimization
- Develop and implement cost management plans to ensure project profitability.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, evaluate work quality, and address any cost-related issues or discrepancies.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met, including budget reallocation and cost reduction strategies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials pricing, and regulatory requirements to inform cost estimates and budgeting decisions.
Cost Reporting:
- Provide timely and accurate financial forecasts and cost projections to support project planning and resource allocation.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead costs, to support project planning and decision-making.
- Present cost analysis findings and recommendations for cost optimization to the Creative director.
- Identify and report on potential cost risks and opportunities for cost savings
Value Engineering:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering solutions through design optimization, material selection, and construction methods
- Collaborate with designers and architects to develop cost-effective design solutions
- Develop and implement value engineering plans to optimize project costs
- Analyze and recommend alternative materials, products, and services to reduce costs
Project Management:
- Provide project management support throughout the duration of interior design projects.
- Monitor project costs, track expenses, and ensure that the project stays within budget and timeline constraints.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and evaluate work quality.
- Address any cost-related issues or discrepancies that may arise during the construction phase.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project specifications and cost agreements
Quality Assurance:
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, materials pricing, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that project cost estimates adhere to relevant building codes and standards.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to address any compliance issues that may arise.
- Ensure that client quotations adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Review and validate all cost-related information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in line with project requirements.
Client Relations:
- Foster positive relationships with clients by providing transparent and accurate cost information.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address any cost-related concerns or inquiries.
- Provide support during client meetings and presentations as needed.
- Participate in contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to finalize the terms and conditions of the agreement.
- Ensure that all parties involved understand their roles, responsibilities, and obligations to mitigate risks and avoid disputes during the project lifecycle.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with the operations team, including the site supervisor, architects, and HR.
- Participate in project meetings and to project planning and decision-making to ensure project success.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Assist with the tendering process by preparing bid documents, evaluating contractor proposals, and negotiating contracts on behalf of the interior design company.
- Oversee procurement activities to ensure that materials and services are acquired at competitive prices.
Continuous Improvement:
- Seek opportunities for professional development and stay abreast of industry best practices.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement within the quantity surveying and estimating function.
- Share insights and lessons learned with colleagues to enhance team performance and efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to cost estimates, quotations, contracts, and project finances.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on cost-related matters and communicate any changes or deviations from the original plan.
Market Price Review:
- Conduct thorough research on current market prices for construction materials, labor rates, subcontractor services, and other relevant expenses.
- Gather data from various sources such as suppliers, industry publications, online databases, and historical project records to obtain accurate and up-to-date information.
- Perform a comparative analysis to identify trends, fluctuations, and variations in pricing across different suppliers and regions.
- Compare current prices with historical data and industry benchmarks to assess changes in pricing over time and anticipate future trends.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to stay informed about changes in pricing, availability, and market conditions.
- Negotiate pricing agreements, discounts, or volume discounts with vendors to secure favorable terms and improve cost competitiveness.
- Adjust cost estimates and budgets accordingly to reflect changes in market rates, based on the findings of the market price review.
- Update project documentation, including cost reports, budgets, and bid documents, to ensure accuracy and alignment with current market conditions.
- Provide recommendations to project teams and senior management based on their market price review findings.
- Communicate any significant changes in pricing or market conditions that may impact project costs, timelines, or resource allocation.
- Provide regular reports on market price trends and cost implications that help inform strategic decision-making and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Cost Database Management:
- Maintain comprehensive databases or cost libraries containing historical pricing data, industry benchmarks, and cost indices.
- Use available data to benchmark current prices, validate cost estimates, and identify deviations from expected norms.
- Monitor market trends, fluctuations, and seasonality to stay informed about changes in prices and availability.
- Obtain quotes and pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for the materials, services, and equipment required for the project.
- Compare and analyze these quotes to determine the most competitive and cost-effective options for the client.
- Leverage your negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiate discounts, bulk pricing, and favorable payment terms to optimize project costs and enhance value for money.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a degree in a related field
