Quantity Surveyor
Job summary
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards and compliance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects.
- Advise management on project costs and potential financial risks.
- Prepare tender and contract documents.
- Contract Administration Review and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders.
- Monitor contract performance and resolve contractual issues.
- Prepare and manage procurement documentation.
- Cost Control and Financial Management Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Prepare periodic cost reports and forecasts.
- Assess and certify contractor valuations and payment applications.
- Prepare final accounts and project close-out reports.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Project Coordination Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Attend project meetings and provide cost-related advice.
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with budgetary objectives.
- Support procurement activities and vendor evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Identify financial and contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized professional body is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
- Experience in building, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles and construction contracts.
- Excellent cost estimation and budgeting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
