Quantity Surveryor
Job summary
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for construction projects.
- Develop project budgets and cost plans from concept through project completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to support project planning and decision-making.
- Prepare material take-offs and estimate labour, equipment, and material costs.
- Prepare tender documentation and evaluate contractor and supplier bids.
- Assist in contract negotiations and procurement activities.
- Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Monitor contract variations, claims, and change orders.
- Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts.
- Evaluate interim payment applications and certify contractor valuations.
- Prepare final accounts and reconcile project expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
- Attend site meetings and conduct site visits to assess project progress.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify potential cost implications.
- Provide commercial advice and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project cost records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant construction regulations.
- Prepare financial and contractual reports for management.
- Support dispute resolution and claims management where required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with quantity surveying and estimating software such as CostX, WinQS, PlanSwift, Cubit, or similar applications.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement processes, contracts, and cost management principles.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
