Project Manager
Job summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering bespoke furniture and interior fit-out projects from contract award through production, installation, client handover, and project close-out. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the company's quality standards.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, quotations, and client requirements.
- Develop detailed project execution plans and implementation schedules.
- Define project milestones and monitor progress against agreed timelines.
- Allocate project resources effectively.
- Coordinate all internal departments involved in project execution.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete before commencement.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates to clients.
- Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate project inspections and final handovers.
Production & Factory Coordination:
- Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure manufacturing schedules align with project deadlines.
- Monitor factory production progress.
- Ensure production complies with approved drawings and specifications.
- Resolve production bottlenecks affecting delivery timelines.
- Coordinate quality inspections before dispatch.
Procurement & Material Management:
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure timely sourcing of materials and accessories.
- Monitor material availability against production schedules.
- Track long-lead items and escalate delays where necessary.
- Ensure procurement activities remain within approved project budgets.
Site & Installation Management:
- Coordinate delivery and installation schedules.
- Supervise installation activities where necessary.
- Ensure site readiness before installation.
- Monitor contractor and installation team performance.
- Ensure installations comply with quality and safety standards.
- Resolve site-related issues promptly.
Budget & Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
- Track project costs against approved estimates.
- Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions
- Review variation requests and assess cost implications.
- Support Finance in project billing milestones.
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain project schedules and progress trackers.
- Prepare weekly project status reports.
- Highlight project risks, delays, and mitigation plans.
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Track project KPIs.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure projects comply with company quality standards.
- Coordinate factory and site quality inspections.
- Monitor defect rectification.
- Ensure snag lists are completed before project handover.
- Obtain client sign-off upon completion.
Risk Management:
- Identify project risks early.
- Develop mitigation strategies.
- Escalate critical issues to management.
- Minimize project delays through proactive planning.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
- Promote safe working practices at project sites.
- Ensure contractors adhere to safety standards.
- Report accidents and safety incidents immediately.
Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct project close-out reviews.
- Document lessons learned.
- Recommend improvements to project management processes.
- Support implementation of operational best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or equivalent Project Management certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, construction, or similar projects.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with production, procurement, logistics, and installation teams.
- Experience managing client relationships.
