Role Description The Project Management Specialist role at Kharis Publishing is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing book projects from acquisition through production and release. This role coordinates timelines, resources, and communication among authors, editors, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope. Day-to-day tasks include planning and tracking milestones, managing logistics related to manuscript flow, and following up on outstanding tasks to keep projects moving forward. The Project Manager will also monitor quality standards, support process improvements, and help align publishing activities with the company’s mission and strategic goals. Regular reporting, documentation, and collaboration across teams are essential aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating multiple book projects and stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess expeditor and expediting skills to follow up on tasks, remove bottlenecks, and keep manuscripts and materials flowing efficiently through each stage.
- Candidates should possess logistics management skills to organize resources, manage communications, and support smooth transitions between editorial, design, and production phases.
- Candidates should possess inspection and quality review skills to verify that deliverables meet publishing standards and align with brand and mission.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with project management or collaboration tools.
- Experience in publishing, media, or a related creative industry is preferred, along with familiarity or interest in Christian and inspirational content.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Communications, Project Management, Business, or Publishing) or equivalent practical experience.
