Project Development Officer
Job summary
To support the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring and successful delivery of assigned infrastructure development, engineering, construction and oil & gas projects.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Project Planning, Scheduling & Delivery
- Coordinate project activities and deliverables in line with approved plans and timelines.
- Track milestones and identify potential delays, risks and resource constraints.
- Implement and follow up on corrective actions to support timely project delivery.
Project Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules, trackers, action registers and records.
- Prepare timely and accurate project status reports for management and clients.
- Document project meetings, decisions, action items and key project correspondence.
Procurement, Contractor & Resource Coordination
- Facilitate procurement requests and follow up on timely delivery of materials, equipment and services.
- Evaluate contractor, subcontractor and vendor performance against agreed deliverables and timelines.
- Monitor purchase orders, invoices, logistics activities and resource requirements.
Cost, Quality, HSE & Compliance Management
- Analyse project expenditures, invoices, variations and resource utilisation against approved requirements.
- Verify quality, inspection and project completion requirements and maintain supporting records.
- Enforce compliance with HSE procedures and project requirements while following up on corrective actions.
Stakeholder Coordination & Project Close-Out
- Engage project teams, contractors, suppliers, consultants and clients to facilitate effective communication.
- Escalate unresolved risks, delays and stakeholder issues within agreed timelines.
- Complete project handover, close-out documentation and lessons-learned activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in project coordination, project delivery or project administration within infrastructure, engineering, construction or oil & gas industries.
- Knowledge of project management principles and project lifecycle processes.
- Understanding of project scheduling, reporting and project controls.
- Familiarity with procurement, logistics and contractor coordination processes.
- Understanding of engineering and construction project documentation.
- Working knowledge of HSE requirements and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint or other project management systems is an advantage.
