Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Take customers’ measurements accurately to ensure proper fit and garment construction.
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences, styles, and clothing requirements.
- Design, cut, sew, alter, and repair garments according to customer specifications.
- Select suitable fabrics, linings, threads, and other materials for garment production.
- Create patterns and adjust existing patterns to achieve the desired design and fit.
- Carry out fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operate and maintain sewing machines, cutting tools, and other tailoring equipment.
- Ensure garments are completed to high standards of quality, finishing, and presentation.
- Manage multiple tailoring orders and ensure timely delivery of completed garments.
- Advise customers on suitable fabrics, styles, colours, and garment designs.
- Inspect finished garments for defects and ensure they meet the required specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bespoke or fashion tailoring.
- Strong garment construction and sewing skills.
- Excellent finishing and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret designs and execute them accurately.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
- Strong work ethic, discipline, and teamwork.
- Experience with bridal, evening wear, or high-end garments is an advantage.
