Production manager
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Production Manager to oversee our garment production from fabric sourcing to final finishing. You will be responsible for ensuring quality, timelines, and cost control.

Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Management:
- Create and manage production calendars for collections, ready-to-wear, and custom orders.
- Break down designs from the Creative Director into workable patterns and production tasks.
- Assign jobs to tailors, cutters, pattern makers, and the embellishment team.
- Track daily output and ensure deadlines are met.
Sourcing & Inventory:
- Source quality fabrics, trims, linings, zippers, buttons at best prices.
- Build and maintain relationship with fabric vendors in Yaba, Balogun, Aswani, etc.
- Keep stock of materials and raise alerts before stock-out.
- Check all incoming fabrics for faults, shrinkage, and color bleeding.
Quality Control:
- Check patterns, cutting accuracy, stitching, measurements, and finishing before delivery.
- Set quality standards for stitching, ironing, and packaging.
- Reduce returns and rework due to poor quality.
Team & Factory Management:
- Supervise tailors, cutters, and finishing team.
- Train staff on new styles and efficient sewing techniques.
- Manage external vendors and third-party production units if needed.
- Ensure machines are serviced and in good working condition.
Costing & Budgeting:
- Prepare costing for each style (fabric + trim + labor + overhead).
- Control waste and manage fabric consumption rate.
- Work with management to keep production within budget.
Reporting:
- Give daily/weekly production reports.
- Report on delays, challenges, fabric shortages, and quality issues.
Requirements:
- 2 years' experience as a Production Manager in a fashion house or tailoring factory.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns, fabrics, and sewing machines.
- Good knowledge of fabric markets and vendor negotiation.
- Excellent leadership, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during collection launches and festive seasons.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, WhatsApp Business, inventory tracking).
