Production Manager
Job summary
Holds overall responsibility for the production floor and the delivery of every order to specification and on schedule. Covers the full production cycle from pattern development to final assembly, including capacity planning, scheduling, recruiting and supervising production staff, enforcing quality standards, and final sign-off before dispatch.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee garment production from pattern development through cutting, sewing, finishing and final assembly.
- Plan production capacity and prepare schedules based on order volume, material availability and committed delivery dates.
- Translate incoming orders into production plans, cut plans and daily work allocations.
- Coordinate daily workflow and monitor order progress against agreed timelines, escalating any risk of delay in advance.
- Recruit, onboard and supervise production staff, including sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates for Management approval.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor attendance and productivity, and verify completed work before it proceeds to the next stage.
- Identify skills gaps, train staff where practicable, and enforce workshop discipline, safety and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure all output meets Company production standards, measurement specifications and finish requirements.
- Inspect and sign off completed garments before release for dispatch.
- Investigate defects, rework and customer returns, establish root cause and implement corrective action.
- Maintain production records covering output, downtime, rework and wastage, and report to Management.
- Submit material requirements to the Procurement & Logistics Lead ahead of each scheduled run.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing a garment production floor, workshop or tailoring team.
- Sound technical understanding of garment construction, patterns, measurements and finishing standards.
- Demonstrated ability to plan realistic production timelines and deliver against them.
- Experience recruiting, training and supervising production staff.
- Strong record-keeping and reporting discipline.
- Willingness to accept accountability for delivery dates and to raise problems early rather than after a deadline has passed.
- Experience in a fashion or apparel manufacturing environment is an advantage
