Product Manager
Job summary
We seek a hands-on Product Manager to own the Finance Module of our Insurance Brokerage Application. The role involves validating requirements, writing clear user stories, managing the Jira backlog, leading estimation and sprint planning, and driving end-to-end delivery. Strong finance (insurance preferred) and execution skills required.

Responsibilities:
Product Ownership – Finance Module
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle of the Finance Module.
- Define the module roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Prioritize features based on value, compliance requirements, and technical feasibility.
- Ensure the module supports brokerage-specific finance workflows (commissions, insurer payables, client receivables, reconciliations, reporting, etc.).
Requirements Validation & Analysis
- Engage stakeholders (Finance team, Operations, Compliance, Leadership) to gather and validate requirements.
- Challenge assumptions and refine unclear business needs.
- Document business processes, edge cases, and regulatory considerations.
- Ensure requirements are complete, unambiguous, and testable.
User Story Development & Backlog Management
- Translate requirements into:
- Clear Epics
- Well-defined User Stories
- Detailed Acceptance Criteria
- Ensure stories meet “Definition of Ready.”
- Properly structure and maintain Jira boards (Epics, Stories, Subtasks).
- Lead backlog grooming and refinement sessions.
- Ensure traceability between business requirements and Jira tickets.
Estimation & Delivery Planning
- Lead module-level estimation sessions with engineering teams.
- Develop realistic delivery timelines based on: Complexity, Dependencies, Resource capacity
- Identify risks early and propose mitigation plans.
- Provide visibility on progress, blockers, and forecasted completion.
Sprint & Development Oversight
- Participate actively in: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups (where required), Retrospectives.
- Clarify requirements during development.
- Ensure development output aligns with business intent.
- Prevent scope creep through structured change management.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Provide structured product updates to leadership.
- Communicate delivery risks and trade-offs clearly.
- Align business and technical stakeholders continuously.
- Support go-live planning and release management.
Quality & UAT Oversight
- Define UAT scenarios and test cases.
- Validate delivered functionality against acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with QA to ensure defects are properly logged and prioritized.
- Sign off on readiness for release.
