Job summary
We are currently seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end purchasing activities in our organization. The ideal candidate must have hands-on, proven experience sourcing materials and negotiating vendor contracts within the oil and gas servicing, manufacturing, or marine industries.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Tendering: Prepare proposals, request RFQs (Request for Quotation), and source reliable domestic and foreign vendors.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate purchase terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to optimize company costs.
- Purchase Orders (POs): Prepare and process POs accurately in accordance with company policies and relevant procurement software.
- Logistics & Expediting: Track placed orders from initial purchase to final delivery in Port Harcourt, ensuring timely arrivals without stockouts.
- Quality Control: Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items, resolving any discrepancies or shortcomings with suppliers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of purchasing activities, pricing data, supplier databases, and vendor performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience in procurement/supply chain within the oil and gas servicing, manufacturing, or marine industry.
- Familiarity with oilfield/marine equipment, materials, and service contracts.
- Good understanding of local industry content requirements (e.g., Nigerian Content policies) is a distinct advantage.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication capabilities with close attention to detail
Remuneration: NGN150,000 monthly.
