Procurement Officer

Responsibilities

• Source raw materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, upholstery fabrics, foam, adhesives, and furniture fittings.
• Identify suppliers and obtain quotations for materials, tools, and production supplies.
• Compare quotations based on price, quality, specifications, and delivery timelines.
• Assist in preparing purchase orders and tracking approved purchases.
• Follow up with suppliers on pending orders and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with Production and Stores to monitor material requirements and stock levels.
• Check delivered materials against approved specifications and quantities, and report discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and order-tracking sheets.
• Assist in preparing procurement reports and monitoring supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with established procurement procedures and approval processes.
  

Requirements:

• HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Must be an NYSC corps member seeking or currently undergoing placement.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Good numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Willingness to learn about furniture materials and manufacturing processes.
• Integrity, accountability, and the ability to work effectively with a team.
