Procurement Officer
Job summary
As a Procurement Officer, you’re responsible for purchasing, receiving, quality storage, and utilization of food and beverage supplies / products in the Restaurant. In addition, you perform inventory control duties and generate invoicing / financial reporting for all food and beverage related goods.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors, suppliers, transport companies, dispatch riders to ensure better procurement process
- Develop and maintain a food management database to keep accurate records of inventory, purchases and waste of food, beverages and supplies for the Restaurant
- Order products and supplies which includes determining the appropriate vendor(i.e. comparing price and quality standard) and entering purchases into the food management database
- Run minor procurement errands before/during operations
- Source and recommend new vendors for Restaurant
- Ensure food and beverage items are in stock at the appropriate time and in optimal condition, including items with short life and perishables
- Receive and verify accuracy and quality of orders before confirming receipts, contacting suppliers of incomplete deliveries and follow up to confirm/verify future delivery future deliveries
- Ensure food is properly stored and maintained including proper stock rotation(FIFO in fridge,
- freezer, store)
- Ensure a safe and sanitary environment adhering to industry, company and legal standard for all food service storage areas
- Perform inventory counts on a regular basis inputting inventory count into the food database , work with the accountant to reconcile counts if there are questions and use inventory management database to track food and beverage ordered, amounts used and cost
- Coordinate delivery and ensure the proper receipt of food and beverage products and supplies
- Document invoice/receipts and forward to finance for processing of vendor payment and reconcile invoices daily/weekly/monthly as required
- To attend and professionally participate in all meetings and training sessions as required
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager when needed. All rules, policies and procedures that are in the Company’s Employee Handbook are to be followed at all times.
- Minimum SSCE required
- 1-2 years’ Experience
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize important tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with a food management system and inventory software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take constructive criticism
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skill, customer service skill
- Physical Strength and agility(must be able to lift to 50lbs on a regular basis)
