Job summary

The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services in line with company requirements. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven procurement to support ongoing projects and operational needs.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Vendor Management:

  • Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services according to company needs.
  • Identify, assess, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers, maintaining strong and professional relationships.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and contractual expectations.


Contracting & Negotiation:

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to secure savings and ensure value for money.
  • Review and manage vendor agreements to ensure alignment with company standards.


Procurement Operations:

  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, RFQs, and all related procurement documentation.
  • Coordinate directly with project managers, site engineers, and the finance team to ensure smooth and timely procurement operations.
  • Track inventory levels and initiate replenishment when required to avoid stock shortages.


Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, vendor information, pricing history, and contract terms.

 

Reporting:

  • Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, stock updates, and cost analysis.


Requirements:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement software/tools.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and cost evaluation skills
  • High level of integrity and accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
